A Different Way to Work: HRDLIČKA Joins the Challenge Again

Our company has once again joined this year’s May challenge, “Cycle, Walk, or Jog to Work.”
8.6.2026

This year, we once again took part in the nationwide “Commute by Bike, on Foot, or by Jogging” May Challenge, organized by the AutoMat association. This marked our company’s tenth participation, confirming that healthier, more eco-friendly commuting is not a one-time event for us but a long-standing part of our corporate culture.

A total of 6 teams participated in this year’s edition, collectively representing our company. Participants across the company demonstrated that the desire to be active and change our commuting habits remains strong here—whether by biking, walking, or combining these with public transportation.

During the May challenge, our employees covered a total of 3,400 km, with an average trip length of 7.17 km, and helped reduce emissions by 543.7 kg of CO₂ compared to driving. This is equivalent to approximately 27 trees.

As usual, the most kilometers were covered by bike, totaling 2,858 km. Participants walked 541 km and traveled an additional 131 km by public transportation. The results show that even seemingly small changes in our daily commute can have a positive impact not only on the environment but also on our health and overall fitness.

Another important indicator was the consistency with which participants took part in the challenge[mt1.1], i.e., the number of days they used eco-friendly transportation. For us, this averaged 72.7%. Interestingly, women achieved an average consistency of 79.8%, while men reached 62%. Furthermore, long-term trends show that regularity in our company remains stable and ranks among the solid results across the entire challenge.

Behind the numbers, however, are people who demonstrate every day that even a small change in ingrained habits can make a difference. And when colleagues join the challenge together, it’s not just about the miles, but also about motivation, team spirit, and a positive atmosphere.

Among the individual participants, the women stood out in particular. Renata S. covered the most kilometers with an impressive 726 km, followed by Michaela S. with 340 km and Nikola S. with 302 km. Among the men, Tomáš K. and Otakar I. performed exceptionally well, covering 234 km and 161 km, respectively.

In the team category, the Brněnské šlapky team performed the best, covering nearly 1,113 km together. They were followed by the PME team with nearly 723 km and the Hrdličky PMG team with 622 km.

In terms of attendance, the Hrdlička Praha team stood out with a rate of 85.4%, followed by Brněnské šlapky with 83.8% and Rozlítané hrdličky with 81.2%. Zuzana M. and Tomáš K. achieved 100% attendance.

A big thank you goes out to all our colleagues who participated in this year’s challenge. Thank you for approaching it with energy and a positive attitude.

Every kilometer counts—for our health, the environment, and a more sustainable future.

Let’s keep up the good work!
